In 1949 Josef Kanz started a small „Trikotwarenfabrik“ with two knitting machines on the garret of a small building. This is how Josef Kanz GmbH & Co. KG established. Few years later KANZ produced successfully underwear for women and children.

In 1963 KANZ shifts the production to terry fabrics and showed a sure feeling for the signs of the times. With this step the advancement to one of the leading producers in the sector rompers and underwear for children has started.

In 1977 Markus Kanz, the son of the company founder, took over the company management together as head of design with his wife Gabriele. The product line was extended steadily and the kids clothing and fashion became more and more to the core business of the company. Today KANZ is one of the market leaders for fashionable and functional childrens wear.

In 2004 the change of generations of the owner-managed company was initiated by Markus Kanz with Özgür Kemal Bender who became part of the management and cares for a stable link between tradition and future.

Our origin from a traditional region for textile industry in connection with the strong international orientation provides the basic for a worldwide sucess. Because of an increasing international demand the brand KANZ presents itself in over 30 countries on four continents.
